Children from the Highlands have inspired others near Glasgow to become human rights defenders and fight against climate change. The Ullapool Seasavers protect their local marine environment and raise awareness of the challenges facing it – and their Drain Campaign was such a hit with P5 children in Mearns Primary in East Renfrewshire that they launched a similar project.
More than 15,000 children discussed how climate change affects their human rights and how young people in Scotland are taking action at a special online assembly.
Join the Children and Young People’s Commissioner Scotland for a special online assembly on climate change and children’s rights! Commissioner Nicola Killean and young guests will lead an interactive session with BSL interpretation on Wednesday, 20 November, World Children’s Day. Children will learn about the link between climate change and their rights, hear from peers who have led local climate campaigns, and share their own views with others across Scotland.
