Rowan and Saif take part in ENYA conference

Young Advisors Rowan and Saif have visited Croatia to work with young people from all over Europe on children’s rights.
The pair – both 16 – stayed in Donja Stubica for the two-day European Network of Young Advisors (ENYA) participation project, where they discussed the right to physical health with 14 teams from countries across the continent.
Each team had prepared recommendations to help improve the protection and promotion of children’s right to physical health before the conference, and the young people finalised these calls in Croatia.
Our Young Advisors worked with Fast Forward and Children’s Health Scotland to develop proposals to combat drug-taking and vaping. They also used the Commissioner’s online assembly on International Day of Play to find out what physical activities primary-aged children can do at school, and what their favourite game to play in the playground is. Saif and Rowan presented their findings – including a word cloud generated at the assembly – and proposals to the conference.
The top five recommendations decided in Croatia will be shared with members of the European Network of Children’s Ombudspersons (ENOC) at a conference in Budapest in September. We will report back when they are finalised.
