Our Young Advisors have met officials from Ofcom to discuss their views on online safety. 

Phoebe, Elsie, Lewis, and Helen met three representatives from the UK’s communications regulator in the Commissioner’s office.

They raised issues like online misogyny, access to extreme views, algorithms, and a lack of control of information on social media platforms. They also told Ofcom that they know how to report harmful content but they aren’t always told what the impact or outcome of reporting is.  

Ofcom said they would consider the Young Advisors’ opinions and insights as part of their ongoing work on digital safety.
