If you want to use our pictures that illustrate the rights of children and young people in your work, please read the terms of use below before you do.

Terms of use

You are free to use and copy the pictures as long as you follow these conditions:

  • The pictures should only be used to increase awareness of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the rights of children and young people in general and/or the work of the Children and Young People's Commissioner.

  • The pictures are designed for educational use only. They can’t be used to generate profit in any way. For example, a not-for-profit organisation can’t use the images in their fundraising materials.

  • The pictures can’t be used in any way that would compromise the political independence of the Children and Young People's Commissioner. For example, they can’t be used in promotional materials for a particular political party.

  • The pictures you use should always be attributed to the Children and Young People's Commissioner and Alex Leonard. Alex’s name and the logo of the Children and Young People's Commissioner are included beside all pictures and should never be separated from them.

  • You can’t significantly alter the pictures you use without the express permission of the Children and Young People's Commissioner and Alex Leonard.

  • You can use as many or as few of the pictures as you want in your work.

  • You can freely photocopy and/or reproduce the pictures, but photocopies and reproductions remain subject to these terms of use.

Other images

The above terms of use only apply to the pictures for children and young people by Alex Leonard that illustrate the rights they have. Other images on this site and in publications of the Children and Young People's Commissioner are subject to copyright restrictions. Because of this, they should not be copied or reproduced without the express permission of the Children and Young People's Commissioner.
