Who the resource is for

Our Symbols resource is designed to be used as a communication tool for children and young people who:

• are non-verbal,
• have speech and language difficulties, or
• have additional support needs.

It can also be used to help communicate ideas about rights to very young children.

The resource has been designed for adults working with children and young people in a wide range of settings. Adults who might use it include:

• parents and carers,
• educators,
• support workers,
• youth workers, and
• practitioners.
