August 2020. Our letter to Deputy First Minister John Swinney MSP highlights:
- the need for a route of appeal which is directly accessible to young people who disagree with their teacher’s estimate or who have been subject to discrimination,
- the importance of universities adopting a flexible approach when offering students places, following the UK Commissioners’ letter to Universities UK,
- the importance of acknowledging the systemic unfairness of downgrading students by moderation of grades through an algorithm.
