Order new resources to help teach children’s human rights

04 October 2017

Our office has produced new, free resources around children and young people’s rights— and we’ll send them for free to anywhere in Scotland.

Our new resources are designed to help people of all ages access the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, or UNCRC. They include:

UNCRC pocketbook

This glossy A6 booklet is introduced by the Commissioner and contains:

UNCRC fold-out poster

An A4 booklet that folds out into an A1 poster containing the full text of the UNCRC. The booklet also contains:

  • a note from the Commissioner on the importance of the UNCRC, and
  • a full list of general comments on the UNCRC.

UNCRC Symbols poster

An A1 poster with the first 42 articles of the UNCRC each illustrated by symbols and summarised in simple language.

The poster is double-sided, with a simple explanation of each article on one side and a slightly more complicated one on the other.

The poster is designed to be used with very young children or those who:

  • are non-verbal,
  • have speech and language difficulties, or
  • have additional support needs.
