Introduction

Children are people and all people matter

#7WordStory

Bruce Adamson is the Children and Young People’s Commissioner for Scotland. That means that he works for you.

Children don’t have the same power that adults do. You can’t vote for changes, and you don’t have as much money. But you do have us: fierce champions for your rights.

This report covers what we did between April 2019 and March 2020. Most of it is about what we did before the Coronavirus pandemic, and that can seem like a long time ago. A 6-year-old recently told Bruce she couldn’t really remember what life was like before the restrictions we live under now.

But it was a big year for children’s rights. It’s important that we think about that, and tell you how what we did over the last year is helping children in the world we live in now. So that’s what this report will aim to do.
